Fifty 1:1 million scale maps covering all of Australia. Each map is six degrees wide and four degrees deep. The maps show roads, towns, localities, waterways, elevation tinting, 200m contours and more appropriate to this scale where 1cm on the map represents 10km on the ground. The map data has been derived from the 1250,000 scale series,
The six degree zones are designated in accordance with the International Map of the World system, starting with Zone 49 in Western Australia through to Zone 56 in Eastern Australia. The four degree latitude divisions are designated alphabetically from the Equator through to South Pole, for Australia, "C" through to "K". All numbers start with the letter "S" to indicate Southern Hemisphere.
