Topographic maps are detailed, accurate graphic representations of natural and man-made features on the Earth's surface, including terrain relief, surface drainage, transport networks, vegetation and cultural features. The Australian Government publishes 513 maps at 1:250,000 scale (4cm=10km) covering all of Australia. More detailed 1:100,000 maps of varying ages have been published in the settled areas.
