Members Tours
The Members Tours are organised from the last week of April to the last week of November, every year. Volunteer guides will give you an insight into the inner workings and behind the scene action of the zoo.
Tours start at 8:30 am every day and have a minimum cost of $10 for adults, and $5 for kids. Each tour includes tea at the Santos Conservation Centre Theatre. Tours need to be booked in advance.
Brutus’s Happy Hippo Birthday
Brutus, the resident Nile hippo of the Adelaide Zoo is turning 50 in May, 2015, making him the oldest hippo in the country.
Party goers will get to enjoy Brutus’s birthday cake and free face painting. Visitors can also write birthday messages and cards to Brutus.
Quiz Night
The annual Adelaide Zoo Quiz Night is a very popular event organised in July every year. The Quiz Night is held at the Fig Tree Conference Centre and is open to viewers.
Participants must pay a fee of $25 per person and must be over 16 years old.
Members Christmas Picnic
The Members Christmas Picnic is an annual event organised at the Adelaide Zoo and includes face painters, a band, and of course, Father Christmas! Food can be ordered in advance. Members can help the zoo by donating jam, cake, and plants.
